The Bahá’í New Year – Naw Rúz – on March 21

DSCN9692Bahá’ís in Arlington will observe their new year, called Naw Rúz, on the first day of Spring, March 21. They will gather after sunset on March 20, ending the 19-day Fast, during which they have not had food or drink between sunrise and sunset, and have set aside time for prayer and meditation.

Explanation of Naw Rúz.

They will have a party at which family and friends celebrate the beginning of a new year as well as the end of the Baha’i month of fasting.
